Tour Plan
Embark on an epic 21-day journey to the base of K2, the world's second-highest mountain. This challenging trek takes you through the heart of the Karakoram Range, including the legendary Baltoro Glacier and Concordia - the "Throne Room of the Mountain Gods."
Upon your arrival at Islamabad International Airport, our team will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After checking in, you will have time to relax and settle in. Briefing about the trek and equipment check. Overnight stay in Islamabad.
Early morning flight to Skardu (weather permitting). If the flight is cancelled due to weather, we will drive via the Karakoram Highway through the scenic Hunza Valley. The drive takes approximately 8-10 hours with stops for meals and photography. Overnight in Skardu.
Rest day in Skardu for acclimatization and final preparations. Visit the local market for any last-minute supplies, check equipment, and prepare for the trek. Briefing about the route and safety procedures. Overnight in Skardu.
Early morning drive to Askole (3,100m), the last village before the trek begins. The journey takes about 6-7 hours through the Shigar Valley with spectacular views of the Karakoram Range. Meet the porters and finalize equipment. Overnight in Askole.
Begin the trek following the Braldu River. The trail gradually ascends through rocky terrain and crosses several streams. First views of the Baltoro Glacier in the distance. Camp at Jhola (3,200m) with stunning mountain views. Overnight in tents.
Continue along the Braldu River with increasingly dramatic mountain scenery. Pass through the village of Paiju and camp at the base of Paiju Peak (6,610m). Rest day for acclimatization and preparation for the glacier crossing. Overnight in tents.
Enter the Baltoro Glacier region. The trail crosses the glacier with spectacular views of Trango Towers and Cathedral Peaks. Challenging terrain with moraine and ice. Camp at Khoburtse (3,200m) with incredible mountain views. Overnight in tents.
Continue on the Baltoro Glacier with increasingly spectacular views. Pass by the Trango Towers and Cathedral Peaks. Camp at Urdukas (4,130m) with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Overnight in tents.
Rest day for acclimatization at Urdukas. Optional short hikes to nearby viewpoints for photography. Prepare for the higher altitude sections ahead. Enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery and rest for the challenging days to come. Overnight in tents.
Continue on the Baltoro Glacier with increasingly spectacular views. Pass by the Trango Towers and Cathedral Peaks. Camp at Goro II (4,250m) with incredible mountain views. The landscape becomes more dramatic as we approach Concordia. Overnight in tents.
Reach Concordia (4,600m), the "Throne Room of the Mountain Gods." This is one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the world, surrounded by K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum IV, and other 8000-meter peaks. Camp with 360-degree mountain views. Overnight in tents.
The highlight of the trek! Trek to K2 Base Camp (5,150m) at the foot of the world's second-highest mountain. Experience the raw power and beauty of K2 up close. Camp overnight at base camp with incredible views of the mountain. Overnight in tents.
Return to Concordia with more time to appreciate the incredible mountain scenery. Spend another night at this spectacular location with panoramic views of the Karakoram giants. Overnight in tents.
Begin the return journey, retracing our steps back to Goro II. Enjoy the spectacular mountain views one more time as we descend from the high altitude areas. Overnight in tents.
Continue the descent back to Urdukas. The return journey allows for different perspectives of the stunning mountain scenery. Overnight in tents.
Continue the descent back to Paiju. The return journey allows for different perspectives of the stunning mountain scenery. Overnight in tents.
Continue the descent back to Jhola. The return journey allows for different perspectives of the stunning mountain scenery. Overnight in tents.
Final day of trekking back to Askole. Meet the vehicles and drive back to Skardu. Celebrate the successful completion of the K2 Base Camp trek. Overnight in Skardu.
Fly back to Islamabad (weather permitting) or drive via the Karakoram Highway. If driving, enjoy the scenic journey through the Hunza Valley. Overnight in Islamabad.
Contingency day in case of flight cancellation. If flights are operating normally, this day can be used for sightseeing in Islamabad or as a rest day. Overnight in Islamabad.
